The Parks and Public Spaces Department delivers a myriad of services to our residents and visitors that are primarily delineated in four areas; Public Works, Facilities, Recreation and Greenspace Management. While each area is specifically focused, they all operate under the same encompassing philosophy of working as a team while striving for continuous enhancement in all service delivery areas utilizing customer relations, strategic management, organizational development, and operational management principles.
Our mission:
To manifest our commitment in providing our residents and visitors with public spaces focused on aesthetics, and fulfilling recreational opportunities while delivering active and proficient public works services to maintain the Village infrastructure.
Bal Harbour Park
Due to the pending construction activities associated with the New Bal Harbour Park and Community Center Project, all Recreation programming, special events and excursions have been suspended.
The playground will remain closed during the construction period and will reopen as part of the Community Center opening in 2022.
Basketball Court
The basketball court will be reopened for resident open play only, when new perimeter fencing and a new entrance is completed.
Use of the park is restricted to registered Bal Harbour residents and their guests. Village residents must show their photo identification cards (provided at registration), or driver’s license to enter the Park. Guests must be signed in by the hosting resident at time of entry. No guests are permitted without the hosting resident present during the entire time the guest is in the park. All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Residents must be twelve (12) years old or older to enter park without an adult. Residents 17 years or younger are only allowed two guests per resident, and residents 18 to 20 years old are only allowed five guests per resident. Residents 21 and over have no limits on the number of guests unless the park is at capacity. Registration, rental forms and free resident identification cards are available at the Recreation Center during posted hours. The Identification cards are renewed every three (3) years.
