BHPD is committed to engaging area youth in positive encounters with law enforcement, creating an awareness around the patrol officer’s role in ensuring safety and preventing crime within the Village. Our officers also partner with other jurisdictions to forge better police relations with the County’s underserved area of Liberty City and the homeless veteran population.
The following are programs and activities we host/co-host on annual basis:
BHPD Explorers Program
“Chief for a Day” Program
Thanksgiving Luncheon for Homeless Veterans
Annual Holiday Toy Drive
“Christmas in July” Back to School Supplies Giveaway
Officer Braxton McClams and K-9 Gina participate in a Peace March coordinated by the Miami-Dade County Association of Chiefs of Police and the Miami Children’s Initiative. The Peace March is another opportunity for police officers to create long-term partnerships with our children and our communities
